Gumblox for families
Gumblox is a free block puzzle game with no ads, nothing to buy and no chat. It doesn't ask for an email address, phone number or real name. This page explains what other players can see, what kid-safe mode changes and how to report or block someone.
Kid-safe mode
Turn it on in Settings (the gear on the home screen), where it has a card of its own just below Gameplay. On that device:
- Every other player's name is hidden. Each player shows as their buddy's animal instead, for example "Fox".
- Friend requests are turned off, so friends can only be added with a friend code or link.
Kid-safe mode is a setting, not a lock: anyone using the device can turn it off again in Settings.
What other players see
Kid-safe mode changes what your child sees. Other players still see the name and buddy your child picks: next to their scores on the daily leaderboard and on challenge pages, and in rooms, the World match and ranked matches, including on a big screen showing the room. Other players, strangers included, can also race a recording of your child's daily puzzles, best challenge tries and ranked rounds, and they see your child's name, buddy and player level (or ranked tier) while they play. Every new player starts with a random name, and any made-up name works, so there's no need to use a real one.
No chat
There is no chat anywhere in Gumblox. In rooms, players can send one of six preset emoji reactions.
Names, reports and blocks
Rude names are replaced automatically. To report a name, tap it in a room before or after a round, on a leaderboard, on a challenge page or in the friends list. Reports go to the Gumblox team, and a name several players report is swapped for a random one straight away. From the same places you can block a player who has an account.
Blocking hides their name and reactions on your device, ends your friendship and stops their friend requests and challenges. Blocked players are listed in Settings, under Privacy & data, where you can unblock them.
Friend codes
Anyone with your child's friend code or friend link can add them as a friend straight away, without asking. Friends see a little more, such as their streak and their best score this week. Share the code only with people you know.
No ads, nothing to buy
There are no ads and nothing to buy. Candies come only from playing, and they buy block styles, board themes and streak freezes in the candy shop. Nothing in Gumblox costs money.
Your child's data
Gumblox doesn't ask for an email address, phone number, real name, location, contacts or photos. Progress is saved online under a random device ID. To delete the account and its data, open Settings, then Privacy & data, then Delete my data. A few things stay for a while: the scrambled device IDs for a year, other players' ranked races against your child's recorded runs under a made-up name, server request logs for up to 7 days and anonymous events for up to 3 months. The privacy policy lists everything that is kept, and the delete account page lists what is deleted and how to ask by email.
