Delete your Gumblox account
Gumblox makes a profile for you the first time you open it. You can delete it and everything stored with it at any time, in the app or by email.
In the app
- On the home screen, tap the gear at the top right to open Settings. In older versions of the app, tap your name there to open your profile instead.
- Tap Privacy & data.
- Tap Delete my data, then Delete.
Your account is deleted from our servers right away, and the app starts you fresh. Other players stop seeing your name, scores and results as soon as it's gone.
Without the app
Email hello@gumblox.com with the subject "Delete my Gumblox account" and your friend code (on the Friends screen, under "Your friend code"). If you no longer have the app, send your player name instead. We delete the account within 30 days and reply to confirm.
What is deleted
- Your profile: player name, buddy, player level, ranked rating and kid-safe setting
- Your friend code, your friends list and friend requests you sent or got (you also disappear from your friends' lists, and your old code and friend link stop working)
- Your daily puzzle scores and weekly scores
- Challenges you created, everyone's results on them, and your results on other challenges
- Which friends you sent challenges to, the challenges from friends waiting on your Friends screen, and your challenge record against each friend
- Your recorded runs that other players race, and the races against them you started
- Your name and player ID in other players' ranked races against your runs. Those races still count, under a made-up name.
- Your push notification token
- Your saved progress and recovery code, and the link to any other phone or browser you moved your progress to
- The players you blocked, reports you sent, and reports other players sent about your name
What is kept
- Anonymous usage counts, such as "a game ended with this score", with the day the app was first used on the device and which visit it was. They aren't linked to your profile or device, and they're kept for up to 3 months.
- Server request logs, which include IP addresses. Cloudflare deletes them within 7 days.
- The hashed IDs of the devices that used your account, for 1 year, so a phone or browser that still has your old progress can't make the account again. It starts fresh instead.
- Wrong recovery codes typed on your devices, which hold a hashed device ID and a keyed hash of the IP address, for up to 1 hour.
- For each notification your account set off for another player (adding them by their friend code, a friend request, a beaten challenge or a challenge sent to a friend), a note that the player got one and when, under a made-up ID instead of yours, so the limits on notifications to that player still hold. Notes about adds by friend code, friend requests and challenges sent go within a day, and about beaten challenges within 12 hours.
- If you delete by email, your settings, progress and unfinished games stay on your phone until you uninstall the app or clear its data. Deleting in the app clears them from that device too.
